About
Behind every stunning design of Groves Sculpture, there is a dedicated individual bringing their unique skills and passions to the artistry world. Meet Simon, the incredibly talented sculptor of all things wood at Groves Sculpture.

From the beginning
Simon's journey into the world of carving began in 2011 when he discovered the world of chainsaw artists.
Simon's background as a landscape gardener often meant using chainsaws, this inspired him to produce his first carving for his sisters wedding. Encouraged by this experience his confidence and ability grew to create more intricate sculptures of mushrooms, bears, small animals and seating.
Since the early days and attending many art fairs and exhibitions Simon has vastly honed his skills through years of practice and exploring various techniques from traditional carving methods to modern woodworking technologies. This blend of time-honored craftsmanship and innovative approaches is what sets his work apart.
Mission
For Simon, wood isn't just a material; it's a canvas brimming with untold stories, waiting to be revealed. With a keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and an innate understanding of the natural grain, he transforms raw pieces of timber into breath-taking works of art. Whether it’s intricate carvings that tell a narrative, functional pieces imbued with organic beauty, or large-scale installations that command attention.
But it’s not just about the skill and technique. Simon's art connects with nature, his sculptures often depict wildlife, highlighting the importance of conservation and encouraging a greater appreciation for the natural world. He often says he's not just creating art, but also raising awareness about the beauty and fragility of the environment which is most important.
