Bespoke Chainsaw Carving
Once again, Simon displayed his sculptures at the Gallery Trail. This year Simon will once again be displaying his artwork in the Norfolk Centre on Mill Road. He will be doing carving demonstrations in the Norfolk Centre grounds at approximately 2.30 p.m on each day of the bank holiday weekend.
Most of Simon's carvings are now installed in Bersted Park, including some very intricate benches and historically inspired sculptures.
The Nature Centre at Tilgate Park in Crawley hosts a number of Simon's animal carvings. From bears to birds, and even kangaroos and meercats, these carvings can be spotted all around the Nature Centres walkways.
This year commemorates a century since the outbreak of the First World War, and as an act of remembrance, Rustington is playing host to some of Simons most intricate and thought provoking carvings to date. A life size soldier, dressed in the uniform of the time, stands at the traffic lights on Rustington High Street, alongside a horses head and a memorial cross. An article about the installation has been published in the Littlehampton Gazette.
